Vertical Loop is an installation of seven sculptures composed of colorful, three-dimensional, fiberglass objects designed to reflect the dynamic commercial district known as the Delmar Loop.

Pedestrians stroll the Pageant Walkway, while overhead, atop eclectic columns, an artist’s palette, a ballet slipper, a book, and a guitar point downwind.  Each is a weather vane symbolizing four arts disciplines: visual art, dance, literature, and music.

It’s a larger-than-life balancing act.  A soccer ball, a teapot, a chicken, and an ice cream cone stand atop a giant jack-o-lantern.  A stump supports a frothy mug, and overgrown pear, and a blue head with flaming hair.  At night, neon light glows from within the shapes while LEDs at the tops of the sculptures punctuate the dark.
